The 2010 Maple Grove Crimson CI adapted hockey team
will try to return to the MSHSL Adapted Hockey State Tourney in March
where they finished 2nd last year. The Crimson was defeated by Dakota
United, 5 to 1 in last years’ championship game.
Maple Grove
will again play in the MAAA North Division with
St. Cloud
, North Suburban, Mounds View,
Anoka
, Robbinsdale and Wayzata/Minnetonka. Mounds View and
Anoka
both return veteran teams and will be tough to beat. Gone from last
years
Maple Grove
team is Antoine Driver, George Watkins, Danny Boesen, Ryan Cornwell,
Kamla Ramdihal & Alicia
Taylor
. Only two returning starters back are senior center Billy Williams and
junior goalie Joel Phelps. Sophomores Andy Brown & Sam VeoPradith
are expected to anchor the defense in front of Phelps who beings his 5th
year as the starting goalie. Also hoping to see playing time are junior
Joe Erickson, sophomore Jenny Ketelsen & 8th grader Tasha Feigh.
New to the team this year are senior Brandon Worth, juniors Lamont Gray,
Matt Perschbacher & Ashley Kerkow, freshman Lavelle Riser, 8th
grader Austin Rohach, 7th graders Alex Kriedler & Shamarke Habib .
The biggest challenge will be replace the defensive tandem of Driver
& Watkins.
The Crimson will open the regular season at home against North Suburban
on Monday, January11th.
Maple Grove
will have 2 seniors on the team with Brandon Worth and Billy Williams
serving as captains. The MSHSL adapted hockey tourney is March 19th and
20th at
